Matthew (“Mateo”) Aláin Agramonte advises international high net worth individuals and families on international tax and estate planning, trusts, and pre-immigration planning, and also advises on international transactional matters.
Mateo is a proud graduate of Miami’s Belen Jesuit Preparatory School. He earned a B.S. in Political Science with a concentration in International Studies from the University of Florida in 2013, where he served as Treasurer and President of the Law School’s Cuban American Bar Association. He earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 2017, where he was a Dean’s Merit Scholarship Award recipient and a member of the school’s Inter-American Law Review. He continued his studies at the University of Miami while working as a lawyer and was awarded an LL.M. in Taxation with a concentration in International Tax Law in 2020.
Mateo is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida, is a member of the International Law, Tax and Young Lawyers Sections of the Florida Bar, and is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Mateo is a proud first-generation Cuban American who enjoys travel, reading and spending quality time with his wife and their golden retriever, “Nutella.” He dedicates his practice to his late uncle, Luís Manuel Pérez, a former federal prosecutor who inspired him to study law.
